Vaccine Roll-Out Continues At Pace

Nearly 200,000 Coronavirus vaccinations have so far been given to people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland – with 50,000 in last week alone.

Over 128,000 have been administered in Northamptonshire, according the latest Public Health England figures.

It’s hoped everyone in the UK in the top four priority groups – which includes all over 70s – will have been inoculated by Monday.

Number of people who have received a first dose in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland:

• Over 80s: 48,524 (91.9% of population)
• 75-79: 35,298 (96.4%)
• 70-74: 35,718 (67%)
• Under 70: 73,162 (9.7%)

Number of people who have received a first dose in Northamptonshire:

• Over 80s: 30,685 (94% of population)
• 75-79: 24,758 (450 MORE than the estimated population of 24,302)
• 70-74: 28,925 (76.7%)
• Under 70: 43,769 (8.0%)

Public Health England has not published figures for smaller geographic areas, like Harborough, although over 7,000 jabs have been given at vaccination clinics held at Market Harborough Medical Centre since December.
