Free Christmas Parking To Return to Market Harborough

Free parking will be available in Market Harborough on Saturdays in the run-up to Christmas for the fourth year running.

Harborough District Council will waive charges in its car parks on December 5th, 12th and 19th to encourage people to shop locally and support town centre traders during one of the busiest periods of the year for retailers.

Councillor David Page is cabinet member for neighbourhood services:

The initiative aims to make Christmas shopping easier for residents and visitors while encouraging more people into the town centre to support local businesses.

It has been welcomed by Gareth Thomas, president of Market Harborough Chamber of Trade and Commerce:

Shoppers will be able to park for free for up to four hours in short-stay car parks, while long-stay car parks will offer free parking all day.

The scheme will also run in Lutterworth, with free parking all day in council car parks on the same three Saturdays.
