Students Told Not To Turn On Home Computers

Students from Welland Park Academy have been told not to switch on their home computers, if they’ve connected to the school’s software since last Friday (Jan 15th)

The warning comes from Police as they continue to investigate a suspected major cyber attack on the school’s IT systems.

Police have told pupils who have used any of the school’s Microsoft programs, including Teams, Outlook, ToDo or Share Point, not to turn on their PC or Laptop until they are advised it is safe to do so.

Senior technicians from Microsoft and working with officers from Leicestershire Police’s Cyber Crime Unit on the investigation.

The issue has meant no live virtual lessons with teachers have been able to take place this week.
