Driver Drops Off Woman & Baby Before Failing To Stop For Police

The driver of a suspected stolen car is being hunted by Police, after he dropped off a woman holding a baby and then sped off.

Officers had indicated for the silver Ford Focus to stop on Wood Market in Lutterworth last night, as it was believed to have cloned registration plates.

A Leicestershire Police spokesperson said: “The vehicle failed to stop for police and was followed, not pursued by officers, during which it slowed down and a woman holding a baby was seen to get out.

“Officers lost sight of the vehicle and a member of the public indicated the direction it had travelled.”

“It was found abandoned a short time later on Westerby Court.”

Police are thanking local residents for indicating where the vehicle had gone and say enquiries are on-going to trace the driver.
