Pupils Perform Special Christmas Sing-Song

Pupils at Meadowdale Primary School in Market Harborough have performed a socially-distanced festive sing-song for residents at the neighbouring retirement complex.

They sang Christmas songs, including some with actions, to more than 30 residents at Elizabeth Place, who watched over the fence from their balconies and the communal garden.

Meanwhile, youngsters at Ridgeway Primary Academy in Market Harborough have made and sent Christmas cards to patients at St Luke’s hospital, as well as those living in local care homes and who have been self-isolating.

The card features 8 designs, including one by school cat and mascot, Pippin, is a montage of pictures chosen from the school Christmas card competition.

Children across Key Stages 1 and 2 were invited to draw a seasonal image – with a winner being chosen from each class.

Commenting on the designs, Head of School, Dave Turner said, “We are always delighted to celebrate the children’s creative skills and when the idea of a school Christmas card competition was discussed, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to spread some festive cheer and showcase our pupils’ talents.”

The cards designed by pupils
