Work Starts On New Community Sports Pitch

Work has begun to prepare for the construction of a new state-of-the-art all-weather sports pitch at Robert Smyth Academy in Market Harborough.
The floodlit facility will be used by students, the town’s hockey club and other community groups, when it opens in January.

It is costing over £750,000 and will be built on an area of the school field off Burnmill Road, along with upgraded tennis and netball courts.

Grants from a number of organisations including Sport England and Harborough District Council are helping to pay for the facility.
