Pub To Re-Open After Rising From The Ashes

A pub in Market Harborough that has risen from the ashes will re-open on Monday.

The Roebuck off Rockingham Road has been rebuilt after a major fire last September damaged it so badly it had to be demolished.

30 full and part time staff have been recruited by owner Marstons, who have spent around £3m on the re-build project.

Work on the re-build began in January, but was halted for a few months during the lockdown.

General Manager, Lynsey Pratt said: “I am new to the area and to the pub, but I am really looking forward to getting started.

“This is the start of a new chapter for the Roebuck and the team and I are all looking forward to welcoming guests back to try the new menu and make themselves at home here.”

Andy Kershaw, Group Head of Estates, Facilities and Capex at Marston’s, who oversaw the rebuild of the Roebuck, said: “During an unusual time for us all, we are really pleased the pub is able to reopen and has the opportunity to reinstate itself within the local community.

“We received some wonderful support from local residents during the rebuild and look forward to seeing customers safely enjoy the Roebuck once again.”
