Work Takes Place After Safety Concerns Raised

Work has taken place after safety concerns were raised about a new traffic scheme aimed at boosting safety.

Tree branches, which were obscuring one of the new set of traffic lights by the railway bridge on Kettering Road, have been cut back.

Concerns were raised on Monday that drivers could not see them until they were very close to the bridge, following there installation on Sunday.

Leicestershire County Council acted and say work on the improvement scheme, which also includes widening the cycle lane under the bridge, will continue for the next four weeks.
