Work Finally Begins On New Railway Footbridge

Written by on 10th September 2018

Network Rail have finally begun work today to build a long-awaited footbridge over the railway in Little Bowden.

The bridge – which should be up by the middle of December – will link Glebe Road with Braybrooke Road, and replace a pedestrian crossing over the tracks, which was shut in 2015, after being deemed a safety risk.

Harborough MP Neil O’Brien has been pushing for action over the past few months.

He said: “I have been chasing the Department for Transport to get on with building this bridge.

“It caused a lot of inconvenience when the  pedestrian crossing was closed, so I’m sure people locally will be pleased with this news.”
