Harborough Council Investigates Illegal Dumping
Written by HFM News on 10th September 2018
Flytippers have dumped what is thought to be asbestos on a country lane and building materials at the side of a Market Harborough car park.
What looks like sheets of corrugated asbestos roofing is in one of two heaps left at the side of Covert Lane in Scraptoft, which has become a hotspot for illegal dumping.
Harborough Council has pledged to remove it and will have to call in specialist contractors if the material does contain asbestos.
Meanwhile, several bags of building materials and other items have been dumped at the edge of the Car Park off Springfield Street in Market Harborough.
A Council spokesman said: “We take flytipping extremely seriously and are investigating these matters.
“We would ask anyone with information to email tipoff@harborough.gov.uk
