Tributes Paid To Market Harborough’s Jeremy Bulloch

Tributes are being paid to Market Harborough-born Star Wars actor Jeremy Bulloch, who has died at the age of 75.

He played the iconic bounty hunter Boba Fett in the original trilogy and passed away from health complications, having lived for many years with Parkinson’s disease.

Star Wars creator George Lucas has called him “true gentleman.”

Billy Dee Williams, whose Lando Calrissian appeared with Bulloch in the films, said: “Today we lost the best bounty hunter in the galaxy.”

Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker, tweeted that he was “the quintessential English gentleman, a fine actor, delightful company and so kind to everyone lucky enough to meet or work with him.

Bulloch starred in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, and acted on a number of British TV programmes, including Dr Who, Crown Court, and Sloggers.

He also appeared in Bond films For Your Eyes Only and Octopussy.

The actor is survived by his wife Maureen and their three sons.
