Covid-19 Vaccinations Start In Market Harborough

The first people in Market Harborough to receive the new Coronavirus vaccine are being vaccinated today.
A GP-led vaccination clinic opened at the Market Harborough Medical Centre at 8am.
People aged 80 and over, care home residents and workers and others in ‘priority’ groups are the first to get the Pfizer jab.
David Sanderson, 86, was the first person to get the vaccine, followed by his wife Susan.
The couple, from Dingley, who have been isolating since the start of the pandemic, told Hfm how it felt and what it means for them:

Around 1,000 people are set to be vaccinated at the Medical Centre today and tomorrow.
Dr Hamant Mistry, Senior Partner, there, told Hfm it is a momentous day:
Patients are advised not to contact the Medical Centre about getting the vaccine, staff are making contact with people to book them an appointment.
Harborough health campaigner Phil Knowles told Hfm he is delighted:

The South Leicestershire Medical Group, which operates the other surgery in Market Harborough and surgeries in Kibworth, Fleckney and Great Glen has been given a provisional date of December 29th for its first vaccination clinic.
