Spot Checks To Ensure Essential Businesses Are ‘Covid-Secure’

Written by on 20th January 2021

Unannounced inspections are to be carried out at supermarkets and essential businesses across Harborough to ensure they are Covid-secure.

Officers from Harborough District Council will carry out the checks, which will focus on face covering compliance, signage, social distancing and other procedures.

The move comes amid a push from government to help drive down coronavirus infection rates and ensure residents and workers are kept as safe as possible.

Council Leader Phil King told Hfm officials won’t hesitate to take action if breaches of the rules are found:

The inspections are in addition to ones being carried out at workplaces across Harborough, in partnership with the Health & Safety Executive.
