Renewed Appeal After Business Owner Attacked

Police have launched a renewed appeal for witnesses and information after a Market Harborough business owner was attacked by a robber.

Helen Walker was punched to the floor and kicked by the man, after she confronted him in her beauty salon, The Beauty Lounge, on The Square, at 1.10pm ast Tuesday.

Helen, who’s run her business from there since earlier this year, had come back from her lunch and placed her bag and purse down in the reception, while she went into the kitchen.

She returned to find the man there and after challenging him, he turned violent, leaving her with a black eye and scratches to her face and body, as well as severe bruising.

Helen had had two mobile phones stolen from her premises the Friday before and believes the same thief had returned.

He ran off out of the salon, located between the PDSA Shop and Cooper Estates, up St Mary’s Road and towards the Symington’s Rec.

Helen praised Police for their quick response after she rang 999.

The robber’s described as of mixed race, about 5ft 5in tall, with dreadlock style hair.  He was wearing a hooded top with a parker jacket over the top.

Police are studying CCTV footage and items seized following a forensic investigation and are continuing to appeal for witnesses.
