Plans for a major expansion of Fleckney C of E Primary School have been announced so it can cope with an influx of pupils from new housing estates in and around the village.
A new teaching block with seven classrooms is proposed for the site on Batchelor Road, to create space for an extra 210 children.
An extension to the school hall is also planned.

The work will cost around £3.9m, which will be paid for by Leicestershire County Council, using contributions from housing developers.
A planning application has been handed to Harborough Council.
A Leicestershire County Council spokesperson said: “The proposals have been submitted due to the number of new housing developments that have been approved in the area. Developing more school places is a key priority of the council and these proposals would help to reduce pressure in Fleckney.”
