Over 127,000 Covid-19 Vaccinations In Leics & Northants

Over 127,000 Coronavirus vaccines have been given to people in Leicestershire and Northamptonshire in six weeks.

In Northants, 78% of people aged 80 and over (25,587) have received their first dose, the third highest figure in the country

52% of that age group (27,826) in In Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland have had their first dose.

The next vaccination clinic at Market Harborough Medical centre is next Friday and Saturday, by the end of which all those aged 80 and over registered with the practice, are expected to have received the jab.

The programme will then move to patients aged 70 and over.

Harborough MP Neil O’Brien is praising NHS staff and told Hfm he has passed feedback from them to Health Secretary Matt Hancock:

Vaccination clinics have also been taking taking place in Kibworth, for people registered with the South Leicestershire Medical Practice.

To date 61,532 Covid-19 vaccinations have been given to people in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and 66.027 in Northamptonshire.
