‘Operational Issue’ Leaves Fruit & Veg Shelves Empty

Sainsbury’s has responded after its store in Market Harborough ran out of nearly all supplies of fresh fruit and vegetables on Saturday.
The supermarket says it was due to an ‘operational issue’, meaning deliveries were delayed.
A spokesman told Hfm: “Due to an operational issue at one of our depots, deliveries of fruit and vegetables to some stores were delayed.
“Stores are now receiving deliveries again and customers can expect to see good availability.”
Customers posted on social media about the issue, as Sainsburys had warned before Christmas that Brexit could impact fresh produce deliveries from Europe, although the supermarket says this was not the cause of the problem.
