New women’s support group to launch in Market Harborough

A new support group offering a safe and informal space for women is launching in Market Harborough this week.
HAB Anti-Bullying and Mental Health is introducing HAB-her space, designed to provide a zero-pressure and judgement-free environment where women can meet others, share experiences and access support.
The group will launch on Wednesday and will meet fortnightly from 6pm until 8pm at Market Harborough Building Society’s HQ at The Point business park on Rockingham Road.
Organisers say women are welcome to attend for a chat, a cup of tea and a chance to spend time around people who understand, with no expectation to speak unless they feel comfortable.
HAB was founded in 2011 by Marie Connor after she campaigned for her disabled son following bullying. The Market Harborough-based charity now provides free advice, advocacy and fully funded private counselling grants for people facing bullying, isolation and mental health challenges.
Marie said the new group has been created in response to the challenges many women face and to offer a supportive space within the community.
The charity says HAB-her space is open to all women and aims to help ensure no one feels they have to face difficulties alone.
