Harborough Firefighters Create Remembrance Display
Written by HFM News on 2nd November 2026
A handmade tribute to those who served has been unveiled outside Market Harborough Fire Station ahead of Remembrance.
Dozens of woollen poppies have been arranged alongside two soldier silhouettes outside the Fairfield Road base, in support of the Poppy Appeal.
Firefighters based at the town’s station say they’re proud to have put up the display again this year, honouring those who lost their lives in conflict.
It comes as Remembrance events are planned in towns and villages across the HFM region this weekend, detailed below.

In Market Harborough, representatives from the Royal British Legion will join armed forces veterans and the chairman of Harborough District Council for a short service at the WW1 Portico, at Rosewood Manor Care Home on Coventry Road, at 3pm on Saturday.

A procession will then make its way to the war memorial in The Square, where a short service will take place wreaths will be laid at 11am.
Due to limited capacity inside the church, members of the public are being encouraged to attend the Act of Remembrance in The Square.
Representatives from the Royal British Legion, Harborough District Council, the armed forces, veterans’ organisations, Scouting and Guiding groups, and the police and cadet services are expected to attend.
An Act of Remembrance will also take place in The Square on Armistice Day, Wednesday, November 11, shortly before 11am, followed by the two-minute silence.
