Kibworth Man One Of The First In The World To Get Vaccine

A Kibworth man has been told he was one of the first people in the world to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

Kevin Feltham joined the Oxford Astrazenica vaccine trial last August, but has only just found out he was actually given the Covid-19 vaccine and not a placebo, an inactive drug, which some of those participating were injected with, to enable researchers to make comparisons.

Kevin, who is well known in Kibworth through his role as a Councillor, was one of a small number of people aged over 70, with other medical conditions, to take part in the trial.

It’s success led to the vaccine being approved and the first to be given to people in the UK.

Kevin, who has suffered no side affects, told Hfm people must get the jab when they are notified they can have it:
