Huge ‘Dangerous’ Icicles Force Closure Of Brampton Valley Way Tunnels
Written by HFM News on 15th February 2021
Tunnels on the Brampton Valley Way had to be closed over the weekend because large icicles were dangling down.
Although they looked amazing, the risk of them falling posed a serious hazard to walkers and cyclists.
Northamptonshire Council Council closed the tunnels at Great Oxendon and Kelmarsh and set-up diversions and said: “As predicted, they are starting to fall now, and at the north entrance many have left a thick blanket of ice on the surface.
“Once they have all fallen we can reopen the tunnels for everyone”
