Go-Ahead Given For Former Nightclub Redevelopment

Planning permission has been granted to redevelop the former Enigma Nightclub in Market Harborough.
Harborough District Council has approved the plan to turn it into three apartments and a ten-bed shared house, or HMO – a house in multiple-occupation.
The Enigma Café Bar and Restaurant will be unaffected by the plan for the upper floors of the building on Coventry Road, which replaces a previous scheme approved in 2017/18 for five apartments.
A spokesman for the developer’s agent, Wilson Architects, said: “The development site consists of a detached, two-storey, Victorian building which has been used for many years as a cafe bar and restaurant at ground floor and a nightclub at first floor.
“The property has been extended and modified extensively over the years, and only a few Victorian features remain.
“The previous applications have been initiated and work has started on the change of use. Demolition and a rip-out has been undertaken.”
