Over 188,000 Covid Vaccines Given In Leics & Northants

Over three-quarters of people aged 80 and over in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland have now received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Figures released this afternoon by NHS England show 40,435 people in the age group have been inoculated, which equates to 76.6%.

In Northamptonshire, 87.2% of people aged 80 and over – 28.551 people – have had a jab, the third highest figures in England.

In total, 102,632 vaccines have been given in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, up to January 24th, and 86,138 in Northamptonshire.

Figures have not yet been published to show how many vaccines have been given in Harborough District.
