Church Modernisation Progressing

Ambitious plans to modernise the interior of a Grade One listed church in Market Harborough could get underway by next Easter.

The revamp of St Dionysius in the town centre is now expected to cost ~£1m and is still subject to further funding coming in.

The scheme to make the 13th Century building “more accessible to everybody” includes a new kitchen and new toilets along with upgraded heating and lighting.

But Gordon Etherington, from the Church’s Reordering Committee, says perhaps the most noticeable change will be the removal of all the pews:
