Bid To Stop People Visiting Harborough From Leicester

Police say fines could be issued if people are caught breaching Leicester’s lockdown restrictions.
There are fears some will travel out of the zone, created to prevent the spread of coronavirus, to visit pubs in the Harborough District which can re-open from tomorrow, while those in the city and its suburbs remain closed.
Some local pubs are staying closed, while those re-opening are operating booking systems or will require photo ID, with proof of address.
Extra officers are being drafted in to Police the lockdown and any additional demand as a result of pubs re-opening.
More will be on the beat than on New Year’s Eve – historically the busiest night of the year.
