Arrests & Tools Recovered After Police ‘Bait’ Van Broken Into

Four people have been arrested in Desborough and over 80 tools recovered after Police used a bait vehicle in a bid to catch those stealing from vans.

Items inside were fitted with tracker devices, which led officers to an address in the town, after the van was broken into and they were stolen.

Leicestershire Police say it was parked up in an area where there’s been a spate of thefts from vans in recent weeks.

Two men, aged 20 and 50, and two women, aged 37 and 47 are being questioned.

Meanwhile, officers are now in the process of trying to reunite the recovered items with their rightful owners.

The bait vehicles are continuing to be parked on driveways, in car parks and streets – thefts from vans across Harborough have been rife in recent weeks.
