Police have made an arrest after occupants of a house in Kibworth Beauchamp were threatened with a knife during a burglary last night.
Officers were called just after 6pm after reports a man had forced his way into a property on Church Road.
He ordered the two people to hand over personal items, but ran off when one of them forced him out of the front door.
A man, aged 35, was later arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary at an address in Leicester and remains in custody.
Police are appealing for information.
Detective Sergeant Tom Brenton, from the Complex Investigation Team, said: “While we have arrested one person in connection with this incident – which I hope will provide some reassurance to the local community – our investigation is still in its early stages.
“I would therefore ask anyone who was in Church Road or the surrounding area yesterday evening to come forward.
“Did you see anyone acting in an unusual or suspicious manner? Did you see someone running off?
“I would also like to speak to anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage. Any information you are able to provide could help us.”
