Apology After A6 Traffic Lights Fail For 3rd Day Running

Severn Trent Water has apologised and pledged to fix temporary traffic lights which keep failing on the A6 near Market Harborough.
They broke for the fourth time in three days today, getting stuck on red in both directions.
The problems have led to long queues for drivers and Harborough Police have urged the company to sort the issue out, after some motorists expressed safety concerns.
Officers made contractors control the lights manually on Monday.
A Severn Trent spokesperson told Hfm: “We’re really sorry for the inconvenience, we’ve arranged for the traffic light company to visit the lights to ensure they’re working as they should and fix any issues.
“Sorry again for the disruption caused, but it will be our priority to make sure all work is complete and back to normal as quickly as possible.”
The lights have been in place since Monday, close to the turn for Foxton, near the McDonald’s roundabout, while repairs to a burst water pipe are carried out.
