Ambulance Involved In Crash In Desborough

Two people have been taken to hospital a crash in Desborough this morning involving an ambulance on an emergency call.

It was involved in collision with a Peaugeot 308 car at the junction of Harborough Road and Gold Street just before 10am.
Two other ambulances together with the fire service were sent to the scene and air ambulances were also scrambled.

Mick Jones, General Manager for the Northamptonshire Division of EMAS said:
“One of our ambulances responding to a 999 call was involved in a road traffic collision on 17 February at 9.51am on Gold Street in Desborough.
“We sent and two road ambulances, a paramedic in a fast response car, a doctor in a car and two air ambulances.
“Two patients have been taken to Kettering General Hospital via road ambulance.
“The incident will be investigated by the police and it is therefore inappropriate to make any further comment at this time.”
Police say it is understood the people taken to hospital had injuries that were not life-threatening or life-changing.
