Film Starring Harborough Actress Up For Top Award

A British film starring a Market Harborough actress has been nominated for a national award – alongside multi-million pound blockbusters like war epic 1917.

Comedy crime thriller Lucas and Albert, featuring Cassandra French as the seductive character Lizzie, tells the story of two ageing hitmen forced into doing one final job before they can hang up their guns for good.

The low-budget film, shot by Northamptonshire-based Scruffy Bear Pictures, has been shortlisted in the Best Feature Film category at this year’s National Film Awards, which will be decided by public vote.

Cassandra told Hfm she couldn’t believe it when the nominations were announced:

The film, also starring John Altman, known for playing Nick Cotton in EastEnders, and Michael McKell from medical soap opera, Doctors. is also up against Dwayne Johnson’s latest movie, Fighting With My Family,
