Market Harborough Carnival Draw Big Crowds Despite Showers

Organisers of the Market Harborough Carnival are thanking everyone who helped make this year’s event a success.

Despite some showers, spirits remained high as nearly a thousand runners took part in the carnival run around the town before a colourful float parade made its way through the town.

There was also a strong turnout at Symington’s Recreation Ground, where a range of entertainment and activities took place, with crowds also treated to an impromptu flypast by the Red Arrows.

The theme of this year’s carnival was the number 6 and best float competition was won by the 1st Bowdens Squirrels group, with Great Bowden Academy taking second place and Harborough Town Football Club finishing third.
