Closure Order Secured On Flat In Market Harborough

Police have closed down a flat in Market Harborough suspected of being linked to the production of Class A drugs.

Officers enforced the closure at Edwin Court on Kettering Road this morning and the tenant – a man – was evicted.

The three-month closure order was granted by Magistrates’ in Leicester, after police applied for it under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.

Officers worked with housing association Platform to take the action, which bans anyone other than police or maintenance workers from entering the ground-floor flat.

The property was the subject of a police raid in February, during which a 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of producing Class A drugs.

He remains on bail while enquiries continue.
