Repairs Underway To Get Church Clock Chiming Again
Written by HFM News on 30th April 2024
Repair work has started today to get the church clock in Market Harborough town centre chiming again.
It has been silent for the past few months due to a mechanical failure.
A major clean-up was needed ahead of the specialist work, as the clock chamber has been used by two peregrine falcons – which have become a regular sight on St Dionysius church.

The church secured grants from Harborough District Council and the Market Harborough and the Bowdens Charity to help fund the work, which has resulted in the clock being temporarily stopped.
The clock is expected to be ticking and chiming again every 15 minutes by the end of this week.
Christine Etherington is the church warden at St Dionysius Church and spoke to HFM:
