Community Groups Benefit After Harborough’s SwiMarathon

Grants totalling thousands of pounds have been handed to a host of charity and community groups in and around Market Harborough thanks to the efforts of swimmers.
Over 150 people took part in the Rotary Club’s SwiMarathon in March, with 34 teams taking to the water at Harborough Leisure Centre during the two-day event, hosted by HFM.
The event has enabled £9,500 in grants to be issued to local community organisations and worthy causes, as well as supporting international Rotary charities.
A presentation ceremony took place this week to present the money to 18 groups and organisations.
Rotarian Gordon Etherington, who co-ordinated the SwiMarathon spoke to HFM:

Awards were also presented to a number of swimmers who took part in the event, to recognise their efforts.
