Local Election To Take Place Across Hfm Region

Local elections will go ahead in the Hfm Region on May 6th, with extra protections to make them Covid-secure.
Among the measures, people have to wear a face covering, and bring their own pen or pencil to mark their papers.
Those self-isolating will be offered an emergency proxy vote, allowing someone else to vote on their behalf.
People will cast votes in Police and Crime Commissioner ballots and to elect councillors to represent them on Leicestershire County Council.
In Northamptonshire, residents will elect councillors for two new Unitary Authorities. which will launch to replace Northamptonshire County Council and borough and district councils.
A by-election will be held in the Little Bowden Ward to elect a new councillor onto Harborough District Council, following a resignation last year.
