Arrest After Teenager Injured By ‘Knife’ During Attempted Robbery

A 15 year old boy from Leicester has been arrested after another teenager was injured during an attempted robbery in Kibworth Beauchamp.
The victim, a male aged 17, was treated in hospital for lacerations to his thumb and elbow, believed to have been caused by a knife.
It happened after a fight broke out between a small number of boys on a footpath over the railway line, known as the tin bridge, close to Warwick Park, between 2.30 and 2.45pm on Saturday.
Officers are appealing for witnesses and information.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “None of these lacerations were life changing or life threatening and the victim has been discharged from hospital after receiving treatment.
“The immediate area was cordoned off by police to conduct some initial enquiries.
“Our investigation is continuing and anyone who may have information can call police on 101 quoting 21*76435.”
The arrested boy is being held on suspicion of attempted robbery and remains in custody.
