Rapid Test Centre For Harborough’s Keyworkers Set To Open Soon

A rapid Coronavirus test centre for keyworkers could open in the Harborough District as soon as later this week.

It will help identify the one in three people who have Covid-19, but don’t know it, by providing ‘lateral flow’ tests for those not displaying symptoms and results within a few hours.

Rapid testing is only for those who are eligible and aren’t already isolating and will be available for key workers and anyone else who cannot currently work from home.

Such centres have already opened in other parts of Leicestershire and are proving successful in identifying Coronavirus cases and preventing the spread of the infection.

Director of Public Health for Leicestershire, Mike Sandys, spoke to Hfm:
