Openreach Work ‘Round The Clock’ To Restore Village’s Internet

Most villagers in North Kilworth have got their internet and phone lines back after being left without connections since Thursday afternoon.

Openreach engineers worked throughout the weekend to restore them, after a major cable was cut, leaving around 400 homes and businesses disconnected.

A spokespeson for Openreach told Hfm: “Most people are now back in service. There may be one or two small faults still around due to the nature of the work, but if people are still having issues they should report to their service provider (the company they pay their broadband bill to) and we will sort ASAP.

“Engineers worked hard on this, and throughout the weekend.”

The problem left home-workers unable to get on-line and prevented children taking part in remote school lessons.

The cable was cut during works by a third-party at the side of the A4304.
