Police Thank Volunteers For Snow Rescue

Police officers are thanking volunteers who came to the rescue after two patrol cars got stuck in snow near Tilton on the Hill last night.
They had been called after a lorry got trapped on Loddington Road, just before 7pm, and then got stuck themselves.
Leicestershire and Rutland 4×4 Response, who have been providing assistance to Leicestershire Police since Sunday’s heavy snow, used their vehicles to tow the patrol cars free.
One of the officers has posted a thank you on Twitter, calling the volunteers ‘superstars’.
The 4×4 team also assisted at the scene to get the lorry moving again.
