Over £2.7m Given To Harborough Businesses Impacted By Covid-19

Written by on 26th January 2021

Over £2.7m has so far been given out to businesses across Harborough to help them deal with the impact of the pandemic.

The District Council is administering the payments on behalf of the government, via different support schemes.

Over 800 businesses have received cash, along with 189 individuals entitled to Test and Trace support payments , when they have to self-isolate but can’t work from home.

The Council is urging ‘wet-led’ pubs to apply for specific funding, if they have not already.

The one-off government grant of £1,000 is for eligible pubs that mainly serve alcohol, rather than provide food, in recognition that they have been severely impacted over the festive season, due to having to stay closed because of Covid-19 restrictions.

The deadline to apply is January 31st.
