Man Who Rammed Police Car Appears In Court

A man who rammed a Police car in a bid to evade arrest has appeared in Court today.
Ashley Challis, 31, of Broughton Astley, was arrested on Monday evening in Swiftway, Lutterworth.
Leicester Magistrates’ heard he had earlier driven off from officers in the car park of Derwent House off Leicester Road in the town, crashing into a patrol car as he made his escape.
Challis pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicle-taking, driving while disqualified and driving whilst over the drink drive limit.
He was remanded in custody ahead of sentencing at Leicester Crown Court next month.
Harborough Police say no officers were injured in the incident.
