CCTV Released After Salon Burglary

A hair salon has released CCTV footage in a bid to catch a burglar who stole hair products worth over £1,800.

John Newman Hairdressing and Beauty, on Bridge Street in Rothwell, has also thanked people for their messages of support since the burglary.

It happened between 5.20pm and 5.30pm on Sunday, when a man climbed over a rear wall and broke in to the salon by forcing open a door at the top of a fire escape.

The footage shows the intruder, who had a full face covering and a hood up, stealing GHD hair products, including hair straighteners, brushes and gift sets, using a black JD Sports and a multi-coloured ‘bags for life’ to take them away.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who can help identify the man, who may have seen a man fitting this description in the Bridge Street area carrying two bags for life between the stated times, or who may have been offered any similar hair products for sale in unusual circumstances.
