975 People Vaccinated Against Covid-19 In Market Harborough

975 people have been vaccinated against Coronavirus in Market Harborough in two days.

The town’s Medical Centre used up all its first supplies of the Phizer jab, at a vaccination clinic held on Friday and Saturday.

The majority were given to people aged 80 and over, who will return in three weeks for their second injection.

Dr Hamant Mistry – senior partner at the surgery – is thanking all who went along to have the vaccination and is praising staff who made it possible:

Volunteers from the Harborough 2012 Lions club are also being thanked for helping with car park marshalling during the vaccination clinic.

Remaining patients aged over 80, registered with the medical centre and its sister surgery in Husbands Bosworth, who still need to be vaccinated, will be invited to another vaccination clinic in the middle of next month, before others will be offered it.

There is also set to be a vaccination clinic towards the end of January at the South Leicestershire Medical Group, which operates the other surgery in Market Harborough and ones in Kibworth, Great Glen and Fleckney,
