Harborough Tattoo Artist ‘Forgotten’ By Government

The owner of a Market Harborough tattoo studio says she and others in the industry feel forgotten by the government.

Unlike hair salons and pubs, tattoo studios, nail bars and beauticians have been told they cannot re-open this weekend and have been given no guidance as to when they will be able to.

In Northern Ireland tattoo studios can re-open next week.

Leigh Higginson, owner of All 1 Tribe Tattoos on Adam and Eve Street, says every day she can’t open is threatening her business’s future and told Hfm they are one of the safest places to visit:

A Government spokesman told Hfm: “We are taking a phased, cautious approach to reopening our economy and we want to reopen closed businesses as soon as possible, once we’re confident they are able to operate in a COVID-secure way.

“This is particularly important for close contact services such as tattoo studios, which can often pose a greater risk of transmission due to prolonged periods of close contact.

“Businesses including tattoo studios can continue to access our extensive package of financial support to help them through this difficult period.”
