Pub Yards From Leicester Lockdown Zone To Stay Closed

A Harborough District pub  just yards from the Leicester lockdown area will not re-open on Saturday.

Owner of the White House in Scraptoft, JD Wetherspoon, have acted amid concerns people will be tempted breach restrictions and visit from areas within the zone.

Pubs and hairdressers have to remain shut in Leicester and its suburbs following the spike in Coronavirus cases, although can re-open elsewhere from Saturday.

A spokesman for JD Wetherspoon told Hfm: “The White House is not technically within the lockdown area but, it is located so very close to the ‘red line’ border that we felt it responsible not to reopen the pub on Saturday.”
