Pub Badly Damaged After Major Fire

Written by on 7th September 2019

A Market Harborough pub has been left badly damaged after a major fire.

It broke out in the first floor of The Roebuck, off Rockingham Road, just before 11pm last night.

Over thirty firefighters tackled the blaze, which saw the roof of the building collapse and took several hours to bring under control.

Nobody was injured, with staff and customers safely evacuated after being alerted by the fire alarm.

Firefighters remain at the scene and have been continuing to dampen down using an aerial platform.

The area around the pub is still cordoned off, with Trimbush Way closed to traffic.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
