Education Secretary visits Market Harborough

The new Education Secretary has been in Market Harborough – to pledge extra funding for schools.
Gavin Williamson joined Harborough’s MP Neil O’Brien at Ridgeway Academy to make the official announcement.
His visit here on Friday wasn’t widely publicised in advance – possibly to reduce the chance of any public protests in the current
political climate.
Mr Williamson announced a multi-billion pound cash boost from the Government – including an extra £700 million for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
