Youths Damage Crops To Throw At Passing People & Cars

A gang of youths have throwing corn the cob at passing cars and pedestrians in Kibworth.
They’ve been ripping them out of the ground from a field on Smeeton Road.
Farmer James Stanbridge says there are limited supplies of the crop this year: “Those responsible have no respect for the world around them.”
“It may sound funny but these cobs, which are for cattle feed and not for human consumption, weigh about a kilo each.
“It’s like throwing a house brick at a car as it goes past. It is totally irresponsible and it is dangerous. If they hit someone it would hurt.
“This deeply saddens me as in a summer of drought and limited forage supplies we are reliant on the yield and feed value of this crop to feed our cattle this winter.”
