3 Friends Died In A427 Crash While On Their Way To Work

An inquest has heard three friends who died in a crash on the A427 were not wearing seatbelts.

Ciprian Merla and Gheorghe Sofitchi who were both aged 22, and  Tatiana Chios, who was 40, were killed when the Peugeot 407 they were in was involved in a head-on collision with a Ford Focus, between Dingley and Market Harborough, just before 7.30am on February 12^th.

The hearing in Northampton heard the road conditions were icy at the time and the Peugeot was seen overtaking cars at “dangerous speeds for the conditions” before it lost control.

The three victims – originally from Romania, but living in Corby, were travelling to Bruntingthorpe Airfield at the time, where they worked.

The Coroner concluded they all died as a result of a road traffic collision.
