A young goose has been rescued after getting in a flap when it fell through a cattle grid near Great Glen.
A dog walker spotted a group of Canada geese congregating around the grid on a farm track in Little Stretton and alerted the RSPCA.

Inspector Herchy Boal went to the scene and despite it being ‘a tight squeeze,’ was able to free the startled bird and allow it to rejoin its relieved flock.
Luckily the goose only suffered superficial grazes to a wing.
Herchy Boal said: “It was very difficult to reach the poor bird and every time I tried to get near him he would panic and thrash around.
“Finally, I managed to grab him and hold his wings together and coax him out through the bars.
“It was a tight squeeze, but I eventually managed to bring the goose to safety.”
“It was my first job of the day that morning and by the end of it I was absolutely covered in mud and blood but despite that, saving this little goose was the best way to start the day!”
About 40% of incidents reported to the RSPCA concern wildlife – and last year, the charity received calls about more than 100,000 wild animals in need – 11 every hour.
